FORMER ALABAMA PRISON WARDEN CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION
A former Alabama Department of Corrections warden has been arrested on serious felony charges as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
Robert Earl Danford, 69, of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with Human Trafficking in the First Degree and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful S*x Act, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office announced Danford’s arrest on September 4, saying it was another arrest resulting from an ongoing investigation into child exploitation. Authorities have not yet publicly released details about the specific allegations underlying the charges.
Danford is a former Alabama Department of Corrections warden. ADOC and federal court records identify Danford as a former warden who served at both the Hamilton and Childersburg work release facilities.
