For Claire, landing at Grain was a dream internship.

Gen-Z is on its way to comprising the largest cohort in the travel industry. Just last year, it was reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that over 40 percent of employed youth were already working in leisure, hospitality, and the retail trade.

"This internship gave me an opportunity to interact with my state in a whole new way."

Alexis brought her own local knowledge, her French language skills and a love of history to her internship this summer at the Kittery Visitor & Welcome Center. She also gained a greater appreciation for all that Maine has to offer travelers and Mainers alike.
