Job Title: Occupational Health Plant Nurse
Location: Piedmont Triad
Salary: $85K
Summary: Responsible for planning and providing comprehensive professional emergency and occupational health nursing care to employees as "charge" nurse, in an assigned manufacturing location, and in accordance with established medical procedures, professional nursing standards and written protocols.
Accountabilities:
• Deliver professional nursing care and render emergency/episodic treatment for occupational and non-occupational illnesses/injuries per standing protocols. Consult and cooperate with management in health related matters.
• Initiates and maintains immunization, hearing, vision conservation, respiratory and chemical surveillance programs. Collaborates with I.E. and training personnel in ergonomics and environmental measures or changes.
• Coordinates the selection and instruction of employees in First- Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and other specified programs.
• Accountable for the overall control and security of the medical department.
• Maintain medical records according to company and applicable laws.
• Conducts pre-employment physical assessments and makes recommendations for job placements. Conducts periodic assessments in response to requests or special needs.
• Serves as member of the management safety committee promoting safety awareness among employees.
• Coordinate health promotions activities, provides health education and teaches self-care practices to employees and dependents.
• Provides a line of communication and counseling to employees. Refers employees to appropriate services for additional assessment as needed.
• Serves in community health related activities as appropriate.
• Establishes and follows plan for self-development and professional accountability.
• Perform other medical/occupational functions as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited or State approved nursing school. Must be certified and legally qualified to practice in the State of North Carolina. Required license or certification: RN. 3 to 5 years industrial experience.
