⚠️ATTENTION⚠️ Let me introduce Amn Perez, who came back to her hometown after completing the tech school!

1. What is your AFSC and what do you do daily?
3F131 Services. You can be involved in many parts such as DFAC, Fitness center, search&rescue/mortuary, recreation. Very fun to experience all areas and have the opportunity to switch around.
2. Tell me how you felt the first time in the recruiting office.
I was very nervous to speak to the recruiter but overtime it was a welcoming environment where speaking to them became easier. Going through two recruiters with the same office, both were very informed and helpful through my whole process.
3. Tell me about your tech school. What is one thing that you will remember forever?
My tech school was in Fort Lee, Virginia on an Army base so a little different but fun. MTL’s were extremely cool and always willing to help out. Favorite memory was a water balloon fight and the leftover water was dumped on me. Very fun but I was soaked💦
4. What is the most interesting thing about BMT?
I went in with General Aptitude. Job counsellimg was on 3rd week of training so having the option to go and pick a list of jobs and get away from the BMT environment was fin. General Aptitude is an interesting experience but would not change a thing. I have loved my journey so far.
5. What is one thing you wish you had done before going to BMT? Any advice to people who are waiting for the training?
I wished I would’ve worked out more to be physically fit for the morning PT and every two week PT tests. ‘START’ working on the 2 mile as it has changed to BMT 2.0. It won’t get easier if you don’t train your body for the workouts. Also, volunteer to be in leadership positions, good opportunity for recognition and gives you something to do.

⚠️This is my RAPper, Airman Acosta, our valuable defender who just came back to his hometown after tech school. Here is his story.

1.What is your AFSC and what do you do daily?
I’m 3P031 Security Forces. If were not at the gate we’re doing some cool hands-on training like combatives and shooting all sorts of weapons.

2.Tell me how you felt the first time in the recruiting office.
I was 100% scared. I was fresh out of high school with no real job backgrounds. Once I walked into the office and saw the beret, I don’t know what it was, but I just wanted to be it. The whole office was positive, and I learned so much.

3.Tell me about your tech school. What is one thing that you will remember forever?
During my combatives class we learned so much fighting styles and my instructors made it so fun. At the end of the class the instructors challenged our top fighters and watching it was so fun.

4.What is the most interesting thing about BMT?
The people. I met people from all over the world and learned so much from them. We didn’t have phones so all you really do was talking to your wingman and getting to know all these stories was cool.

5.Whwat is one thing you wish you had done before going to BMT? Any advice to people who are waiting for the training?
I would learn the Air Force song, Airman’s creed, and the Air Force ranks. I had a hard time in BMT remembering those and all my buddies learned it quick. I would also go on runs and do more push ups. Oh, and DON’T OVERPACK! The Air Force will five you everything you need. My bags were too full.

Listen to the story of my RAPper A1C Pomeroy who just graduated from tech school and came back to his hometown to spend time with his family.

1. What is your AFSC and what do you do daily?
My AFSC is 1N23IA Signals Intelligence. My job duties include understanding the electromagnetic spectrom, provessing, identifying, analyzing and reporting electromagnetic emissions to notify commanders of unusual activity or critical situations.

2. Tell me how you felt the first time in the recruiting office.
When I first went to the recruiter, I wasn't sure if I wanted to join the Air Force. After one trip, I felt much more informed and felt ready to begin my jovrney.

3. Tell me about your tech school. What is one thing that you will remember forever?
My tech school wes mid-length 5 months. I didn't expect to meet so many like-minded people and make so many friends. I will remember taking a trip to Dallas with six friends for memorial day weekend. It was a great time.

4. What is the most interesting thing about BMT?
The opportunities you get to challenge yourself in
BMT are everywhere. The most interesting thing is how quickly 50 trainees begin to learn how to operate as a team, learning haw to delegate / motivate others.

5. What is one thing you wish you had done before going to BMT? Any advice to people who are waiting for the training?
I wish I ran more before BMT. Although I did well on my PT, if I started running a year before instead of 3 months before, I could have maxed out my PT score in BMT, and had an even better progression through tech school.
