The teams working behind the scenes to keep our farms running are nothing short of impressive. 👀

They build and maintain greenhouses, keep tractors and harvesters running, ensure equipment is sanitized, transport equipment between growing regions, and build, fix, and maintain just about everything on the farm.

So much of what makes a farm run happens behind the scenes, and these teams make it all happen.

Planting starts long before the seed goes in the ground.

Right now, our Arizona farms are preparing fields for the next round of planting and transplanting.

We’re transitioning from our sudangrass cover crop by mowing it down and incorporating the organic matter back into the soil along with some of our certified organic compost.

From there, beds are listed, irrigation is applied, and pelletized certified organic chicken fertilizer is then incorporated into the beds. We irrigate again before using a mulcher to break up dirt clods and create an ideal seedbed for our crops.

A lot goes into getting a field ready to grow more food. This is just a little glimpse of the process. 🍃

Our first farm bag haul from Sun Produce Co-op was a success!

This is the Standard Bag for $20 (they also have a grande for $30) with lots of add-ons available from other local producers.

Everything is locally sourced, grown or produced by local farms and producers, so you’re supporting multiple local businesses through one Farm Bag/CSA program.
