Ambassador Personnel is seeking an experienced Accountant I / Credit & Collections Representative for a contract opportunity with a leading organization in Somerset, NJ. This position is onsite and offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a pay rate of $30.17 per hour. The assignment is scheduled to run from June 15, 2026 through December 30, 2026.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, maintaining credit limits and payment terms, and collecting delinquent accounts receivable. Daily responsibilities include reviewing orders on credit hold and determining release eligibility, collecting outstanding balances, identifying and escalating potential bad debt accounts, reconciling customer accounts, responding to customer inquiries, and working closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve payment disputes. You will also review and adjust customer credit limits, coordinate collection agency referrals when necessary, assist with payment portal setups, and support various credit and collections initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of credit and collections experience within a large corporate environment, along with a strong understanding of credit analysis, accounts receivable processes, and customer account management. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will be considered. Candidates should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word, is required. Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft and credit reporting platforms including Dun & Bradstreet or Creditsafe is highly preferred.
