A small thing we've noticed after a lot of years of shipping gift boxes.
The box gets recycled. The tumbler goes in a cabinet. The blanket ends up on somebody's couch.
The card ends up taped to the side of a monitor. We've been in enough offices to have seen it more than once, a little note card curling at the corner, stuck up next to a photo of somebody's dog. Not because it was beautiful. Because it said something true and somebody meant it.
It's the cheapest part of the entire gift. The card itself costs a couple of dollars. Writing something real on it costs about twenty minutes, once, in September, before the holiday queue eats the calendar and it becomes whatever the template says.
And it's the part almost everyone skips. The gift gets a budget meeting. The note gets two minutes.
We'll say the unglamorous part out loud too: a good note doesn't fix a rough year with a client. Nothing in a box does that. What it does is make a good relationship feel seen at exactly the moment when most companies are sending something automated.
Fall outings are wrapping up and the holiday queue is filling in behind them. Our priority cut-off for custom work this holiday is September 15, which makes this the good week to think about it rather than the busy one.
Tell us how many people and roughly what you'd like it to feel like. We'll handle the rest — and we'll help you write the card.
