Hey Facebook family and friends,

Most of you are aware I am very passionate about my black history and have been researching the amazing truth behind how California was named after a black Amazonian Queen. Her name was Queen Califia/ Calafia/ Kalafia, yes that is right, a BLAK QUEEN and I was more than disappointed learning of her after living here for over 40 years. Since then, it has been a personal mission of mines to raise awareness since late 2017 with one of our projects still including a documentary.

As a team, Sarah Montes and I have used the story as an inspiration for our youth and collaborated with the Legacy Project founder Jamila Batts-Capitman where we train future diversity peer consultants and fearless youth leaders here in the Fresno Community. (www.legacyfresno.org)

Now that we are approaching 3 years in collaboration, and my school career is ending, it's time to get back to work on putting my Calif Queen back on the MF Map and I’m overjoyed our collaborations are expanding!!! (An amazing announcement is coming soon.) 🙂

The Queen Califia Empowerment Project is needing your help by signing this petition and helping us to restore Queen Califia to her rightful throne starting with the Seal of California. 2020 has empowered me to get back to reclaiming the stolen, disenfranchised, and lost voices in my history.

Our summer youth employment and leadership development program was a success. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🤩💜👑✅ Yayyyyy, we did it Fam,...Queen Sarah Montez, I COULD NOT have done this without you!!! I’m so grateful to have a Co-Pilot and partner. You get things done and we make things fun!! 💞💛💛

After resting, reflecting, praying, and thanking God, we are back into overdrive preparing our summaries, updates, and media fundraising marketing plans to offer the program again to even more youth leaders for 2020.

I love my country and all the people in it but I will spend every breadth in my body, for my entire life, educating, motivating, and encouraging others to tap into their greatness and soar above our racial differences by participating in our program.
