CONFIDENTIAL EXECUTIVE SEARCH | INTERIM CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

PTF Consulting is conducting a confidential search for an accomplished Interim CFO to lead the finance organization of a private equity-backed manufacturing company.

This is a 6 to 9-month engagement with the potential for conversion to a permanent CFO position. The role is hybrid and located in the Northeastern United States. The exact location and company identity will be shared with qualified candidates as the process advances.

The Interim CFO will partner closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, executive leadership team, and private equity sponsor during a period of financial improvement, operational transformation, and strategic growth.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Full leadership of the finance and accounting organization
• P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital oversight
• Budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and executive reporting
• Manufacturing finance, standard costing, and inventory management
• EBITDA, margin, and operational-performance improvement
• Board, lender, and private equity sponsor reporting
• Internal controls, U.S. GAAP compliance, and financial governance
• Finance-team leadership and organizational development

Candidates should bring:

• Prior CFO experience leading finance for a $100M+ organization
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
• Manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and inventory expertise
• Experience within MedTech, medical devices, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, or another regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong executive presence and experience partnering with CEOs and Boards
• Availability to work according to a hybrid schedule in the Northeastern United States

Private equity portfolio-company experience, post-acquisition integration, ERP modernization, and CPA, CMA, or MBA credentials are preferred.

Crew chief Mike, here sorry with the late week update! This past Saturday at Dominion we unloaded the car was a bit tight. We made adjustments through practice and qualifying and found some speed. We qualified sixth and after some fierce on track action and some fun, clean fast laps finished P6. We will be out at Shenandoah Speedway this Saturday, August 1 green flag at 6 PM. Your interview process is part of your employer brand.

Whether you planned it or not.

Candidates notice when interviews are organized.

They also notice when they are not.

Late feedback.
Duplicate questions.
Unclear next steps.
No compensation alignment.
Five people asking five different versions of the same thing.

That does not feel “thorough.”

It feels messy.

And strong candidates are paying attention.

The interview process is not just how you evaluate talent.

It is how talent evaluates you.

Great candidates are not always great resume writers.

Some candidates are incredible at doing the work:
- Solving problems.
- Building trust.
- Learning quickly.
- Making teams better.

But they are not always great at packaging themselves on paper.

And right now, candidates are spending more time and money than ever trying to create the “perfect” resume.

That has raised the bar for presentation, but it has not necessarily raised the bar for talent.

A polished resume matters.

But it should not matter more than capability.

Are we screening for the best candidate, or the best resume?

Resume overload is not a recruiting strategy.

It is usually a sign that someone skipped the hard part.

Anyone can run a keyword search, grab a pile of resumes, and send them over with a cheerful, “Let me know what you think.”

That is not partnership.

That is outsourcing the screening burden back to the hiring manager.

And when your COO, HR leader, or technical lead is already stretched thin, the last thing they need is 27 “maybes” sitting in their inbox.

They need someone who can actually narrow the field. Someone who understands the role. Someone who asks better questions up front.
Someone who can separate “looks good on paper” from “can actually do the job.”

Someone who is willing to say, “These are the 2 or 3 worth your time.”

Because more resumes do not create better hiring outcomes.

Better fit does.

The right recruiting partner should reduce noise, not add to it.

PTF Consulting is supporting direct-hire opportunities for Data Engineers with experience building data pipelines, workflows, and reporting/analytics applications in mission-driven environments.

We’re looking for candidates with experience in Python, SQL, Scala, or R, along with the ability to work across structured and unstructured data in collaborative technical teams.
