HOT JOBS ALERT: Experienced Machinist Needed in Fort Pierce

If you know your way around a lathe, mill, grinder, and a set of micrometers, this opportunity might be a perfect fit.

A Fort Pierce employer is looking to IMMEDIATELY HIRE an experienced Manual Machinist for a full-time position paying $25 per hour.

The schedule is a big plus too: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Work four 10-hour days, then enjoy a three-day weekend.

Qualified candidates should be able to read blueprints, work independently, and produce quality parts to specifications. Experience operating lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill presses, and radial arm drills is important. Boring mill and CNC experience are also helpful.

Benefits include fully paid health insurance, uniforms, and holiday pay after the 90-day probation period, plus paid vacation after one year.

A special thank you to the Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA) for partnering with our Summer of Success program and introducing local teens to the many career pathways within the construction industry. Participants gained firsthand knowledge of the teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and technical skills that are essential on every successful project.

From GED Graduate to Skilled Trades Professional

Eric knew that earning his GED would create new opportunities for his future. While balancing work, family responsibilities, and his education, he remained focused on achieving his goal and building a path toward a rewarding career.

Through Eckerd Connects Workforce Development's Youth Connections program in Florida, Eric received the support and flexibility he needed to stay on track. His hard work paid off when he successfully passed all of his GED exams.

"Eric consistently demonstrated determination and accountability throughout his journey," shared Career Coach Teri Graul at CareerSource Research Coast Youth Connections. "Watching him earn his GED was a proud milestone because it represented months of perseverance, dedication, and hard work."

Today, Eric is employed with an air conditioning and heating company, where he is gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing technical skills in the construction industry.

"My goal is to become a lineman within the next several years, and based on my work ethic and determination, I have every confidence that I will achieve it," said Eric.

Eric's journey shows what can happen when determination meets opportunity. We are proud to celebrate his success and look forward to seeing where his ambition and dedication take him next.
