📄 3 resume mistakes attorneys make
I read attorney resumes all day. Here are the three mistakes I see most: 👇
1️⃣ Listing every case like it’s a court filing. A hiring partner doesn’t want a docket. They want to know what you actually did and what it led to.
2️⃣ Burying the practice area. If I have to dig to figure out whether you do litigation or transactional work, so does the person hiring you.
3️⃣ No numbers. “Managed complex matters” means nothing. “Handled a 40-case docket” or “closed $30M in transactions” means something.
💡 Your resume isn’t a memoir. It’s a marketing document. Make it easy to say yes.
