Today we recognize the 111th Birthday of the United States Navy Reserve.

Established on March 3, 1915, the Navy Reserve has played a vital role in supporting our nation through times of war, crisis, and global operations. From World War I to today, Reserve Sailors have consistently stepped forward to serve when called.

These men and women balance civilian careers with military service, bringing experience, skill, and commitment to every mission.

Presidents’ Day traces back to the celebration of George Washington’s birthday on February 22, 1732, and was established as a federal holiday in 1879 to recognize leadership and public service.

Today, the holiday is widely observed across the federal workforce and military community. While many offices are closed in recognition of the day, countless healthcare professionals, service members, and civil servants continue their work in support of others.

Last week in Washington, DC, GiaCare was formally inducted as a Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) partner, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to supporting military spouses through meaningful employment opportunities.

While GiaCare has supported military spouse hiring for years, this formal induction allowed us to stand alongside employers and leaders focused on improving workforce access, continuity, and opportunity for military families.

Programs such as Military OneSource play a critical role in supporting military spouses through PCS-related career disruption by providing free, confidential resources, including career coaching, education and credential guidance, and relocation and transition support through initiatives such as the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities Program - SECO.

As a federal medical staffing contractor supporting military treatment facilities, we see firsthand the value military spouses bring to mission readiness. We remain committed to advocating for practical pathways and opportunities that recognize both capability and circumstance.
