Position Details:

Crew Structure:

Runs with a crew of three. Couple will have a queen guest cabin, with the Captain in the forepeak.

Mate Responsibilities:

Assisting with all deck operations and guest activities
Tender driving and watersports setup
General vessel maintenance and exterior upkeep
Supporting the Captain with safe and efficient vessel operations
Chef/Stew Responsibilities:

Preparing fresh, high-quality meals for guests and crew
Provisioning and galley management
Assisting with interior duties and guest service as needed

A well-established 120ft private motor yacht is seeking an experienced Mate to join their long-standing program. The vessel is foreign flagged with American owners and offers excellent longevity and a positive onboard environment. The yacht is primarily based in Fort Lauderdale with summers spent cruising New England.

Responsibilities:

Drive and operate a 37’ tender confidently and safely
Oversee deck maintenance and ensure high presentation standards onboard
Manage washdowns, detailing, teak care, and general upkeep
Assist with docking, navigation, passage planning, and watchkeeping
Support safety procedures, drills, and equipment maintenance
Help maintain an organized and team-oriented atmosphere onboard
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience onboard yachts
Previous Mate experience on similar-sized vessels preferred
100 ton USCG license or RYA Offshore
Strong knowledge of deck operations and maintenance
Professional, organized, and hardworking attitude
Must have valid B1/B2

Seeking a full-time Mate/Engineer to join a professional South Florida-based program. The vessel operates primarily as a fixed-base day boat for private owners and corporate entertaining, with the majority of trips consisting of short local cruises and cocktail events throughout the Miami and Palm Beach areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a career-minded mariner seeking a stable, local position with strong work-life balance and long-term potential within an established fleet. Operates with a crew of three.

Position Responsibilities:
Assist the Captain with all deck operations and daily vessel management
Oversee routine engineering duties and assist with maintenance/troubleshooting onboard systems
Manage washdowns, detailing, and overall vessel presentation
Assist with docking, anchoring, navigation, and safety procedures.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and shoreside support when needed
Support guest operations during cocktail cruises and day events
Maintain organized maintenance schedules and operational records

Candidate Requirements:
USCG 100GT License or MCA Yachtmaster 200GT required
STCW and valid ENG1 required
AEC or strong operational engineering knowledge preferred
Previous experience in a Mate or Mate/Engineer role on similar-sized vessels
Professional, organized, and self-motivated
Strong knowledge of South Florida waterways
Comfortable in a local, non-liveaboard role

Details

Delivered in July 2025, so she is brand new. The yacht runs charters, including day charters and weekend trips.

She has two crew cabins: one twin bunk cabin and one single cabin. The yacht is based in Monaco.

The owner also uses the yacht privately for trips here and there when she is not chartered. Since he lives in Monaco, he enjoys going out for the day or a weekend whenever the weather is good. The owner is Danish and a very nice gentleman.

It would be beneficial if the new captain has experience on larger yachts and strong communication skills, especially early in his or her career, as this may help bring the expected standards and structure on board.

As the yacht operates both day charters and weekend charters, the program can at times require back-to-back turnarounds and quick setups between trips, so good organisation and teamwork are important.

The cruising program is mainly around Monaco, Italy, and possibly Corsica and Sardinia, with the potential for a Caribbean season based in St. Martin, including charters in St. Barth and Anguilla. This is still to be discussed and would depend on how the season goes and whether everyone is keen to make it worthwhile.

There is a stew/deck and stew/chef already onboard.

The yacht is under the Maltese flag, commercially registered.

Has done, housekeeping, service and laundry skills
No tattoos
Non smoker
No pre existing medical conditions
Someone who can drive a manual car overseas

Must have ENG 1 medical
Must have STCW 95

Fluent English speaking is required.
The candidate should be a true professional as security checks will be given before being accepted for the position onboard. You must be well presented with the correct attitude, hard working, have previous longevity and be committed to the industry.
