About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver maritime training courses to students pursuing careers in the yachting and maritime industries. Training may include navigation, seamanship, safety, regulations, vessel operations, and other industry-related subjects within the International Yacht Training ( IYT ) and Maritime and Coastguard Agency ( MCA) course structures.

Previous teaching experience is beneficial but not essential. We are looking for individuals with strong maritime experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and practical maritime training courses.
Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to students.
Assist with practical exercises and assessments.
Support the development and continuous improvement of training materials.
Represent the training school professionally with students and industry partners.

Position: Yacht - Mate

Description: MATE – 120FT PRIVATE FF M/Y

LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale Based / New England Summers

CONTRACT: Permanent

A well-established 120ft private motor yacht is seeking an experienced Mate to join their long-standing program. The vessel is foreign flagged with American owners and offers excellent longevity and a positive onboard environment. The yacht is primarily based in Fort Lauderdale with summers spent cruising New England.

Responsibilities:

Drive and operate a 37’ tender confidently and safely
Oversee deck maintenance and ensure high presentation standards onboard
Manage washdowns, detailing, teak care, and general upkeep
Assist with docking, navigation, passage planning, and watchkeeping
Support safety procedures, drills, and equipment maintenance
Help maintain an organized and team-oriented atmosphere onboard
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience onboard yachts
Previous Mate experience on similar-sized vessels preferred
100 ton USCG license or RYA Offshore
Strong knowledge of deck operations and maintenance
Professional, organized, and hardworking attitude
Must have valid B1/B2
Valid STCW, ENG1,
