Ready to make a difference in your community? The Fort Dodge IowaWORKS office is looking for a dedicated Title I Career Planner to support job seekers across Webster, Hamilton, Humboldt, Wright Pocahontas and Calhoun counties. This is a case management position for youth, young adults and adult programming.
This role helps individuals overcome barriers, grow their skills, and connect with meaningful employment opportunities.
What You'll Do:
• Recruit, enroll, and guide participants, particularly youth, through personalized career and training plans.
• Assist job seekers with resumes, interview skills, job searching, career assessments, and referrals to employment and training programs.
• Connect customers with community resources to address housing, education, mental health, and more.
• Facilitate workshops, attend career fairs, and engage in community outreach to grow program participation.
• Work closely with local employers to support recruitment needs and promote work-based learning opportunities.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation within the IowaWORKS system.
Key Qualifications:
• Ability to build trusting relationships and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of case management and counseling techniques.
• Strong critical and creative thinking skills for developing achievable action plans.
• Experience coordinating community resources and partner services.
• Attention to detail with documentation and record-keeping requirements.
• Proficiency with databases, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
