Last week’s Mississippi SHRM Conference was filled with learning, laughter, meaningful conversations, and moments I will always remember.

One of the greatest privileges of serving as Mississippi SHRM State Council Director is working alongside dedicated volunteers and HR professionals who give their time, energy, and expertise to strengthen our profession across the state.

I was deeply honored when my fellow volunteer team members recognized Misty McCraw and me for our leadership and service to the Mississippi SHRM State Council. This recognition belongs just as much to the incredible people who worked beside us and helped make this year’s conference such a success.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, presented, sponsored, and supported HR Royale. I came home with new ideas, renewed energy, and even greater appreciation for Mississippi’s HR community.

It was such a fun and rewarding week, and I am grateful for every moment.

One of my favorite parts of serving with the Mississippi SHRM State Council is having the opportunity to recognize outstanding HR professionals who make a real difference every day.

Congratulations to Brooke Ballard Meeks, recipient of the Mississippi Spirit of HR Award, and Connie S. Parker, recipient of the Mississippi HR Professional of the Year Award.

These awards represent more than professional accomplishments. They recognize leaders who invest in people, strengthen organizations, and elevate the HR profession across our state through their dedication, service, and leadership.

It’s still a little surreal to see this.

Being featured on the cover of HR Professionals Magazine as the Director of the Mississippi SHRM State Council is an honor that represents far more than one person. It reflects the incredible HR professionals, volunteers, and business leaders I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside over the years.

Leadership has never been about recognition for me. It’s about helping others grow, building stronger workplaces, supporting our business community, and making a positive impact wherever I can.

I’m grateful for the opportunities SHRM has given me, the relationships I’ve built throughout Mississippi, and the trust our clients place in Professional Staffing Group every day.

One of the things I enjoy most about this conference is the opportunity to connect with HR professionals from across our state, exchange ideas, and continue learning from one another. Every conversation and every session offers something valuable that can make a difference back in our workplaces and communities.

Serving as the Mississippi SHRM State Council Director is a privilege, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that is committed to helping HR professionals grow, lead, and make a lasting impact.
