Flora High School students, Sydney Dawkins, Kristen Pipher, Paul Hudson, Qynlin Brown,
Hayden Young, Ella Cammon, Justice Scroggins, Kinley Atwood, and Meredith Woolever
placed among the top students in Illinois in the 2026 Office Specialist (MOS) State
Championship for Spring Semester.
The MOS State Championship consists of six certification exams covering Microsoft Office
products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Sydney Dawkins placed 4 th in Excel and 2 nd in
Word (perfect score); Kristen Pipher placed 2 nd in Excel (perfect score) Meredith Woolever
placed 3rd in PowerPoint (perfect score); Paul Hudson placed 1st in Excel (perfect score),
Qynlin Brown placed 8th in Excel, Justice Scroggins placed 9 th in Excel, Hayden Young placed
1 st in PowerPoint (perfect score), Ella Cammon 4 th place in PowerPoint (perfect score), and
Kinley Atwood 7 th place in Excel. 1 st place winners earn the opportunity to attend the Microsoft
National Competition in Nashville, Tennessee in June. Out of six available slots, Flora placed
first in four.
Students attending the National competition compete against other students from 50 states for
scholarships. Paul Hudson will be competing in Excel, Kristen Pipher in PowerPoint, Hayden
Young in PowerPoint, and Payton Scroggins in Word—the competition will be in Nashville in
June. Students are currently seeking donations to help with the travel costs.
These MOS exams are industry-standard assessments and to finish this high in the state proves to
potential employers that you have mastered the skills. Flora High School has been a Microsoft
testing facility for six years.
