It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former St. Francois County Ambulance District EMT, Thomas โ€œBoโ€ Bergner.

Bo dedicated 29 years of service to our district and our community. During his time with St. Francois County Ambulance District, he served with compassion, commitment, and a deep sense of duty that left a lasting impact on those he worked beside and the patients he cared for.

Bo was a founding member of IAFF Local 3705 and also a founding member of our funeral response team, helping build traditions of service, honor, and respect that continue today.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Boโ€™s loved ones and to all those who had the privilege of knowing him. We are grateful for his life, service, and lasting impact.

Happy Bossโ€™s Day to our leadership team at St. Francois County Ambulance District: Jason Noel, CEO, Davey Miller, COO, and Kristy Halter, CFO!

Jason and Davey still work ambulance shifts alongside our crews. Kristy still works shoulder to shoulder with our office staff, handling patient accounts. Different responsibilities, same willingness to roll up their sleeves and help get the job done.

St. Francois County Ambulance District is a Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) pioneer, having launched one of the nationโ€™s first MIH programs in 2015. Back then, care mostly worked one way. You called 911, we came to you, and off to the emergency room you went.

Our ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ team changed that.

They visit people at home. They help manage diabetes, heart conditions, and medications. They check in after hospital stays and help prevent falls before they happen. We were the first to bring MIH to our area, and watching it grow into a model other services now follow has been something special.

This ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐— ๐—œ๐—› ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ธ, please join us in thanking our MIH team. They are a big reason fewer of your neighbors need an ambulance in the first place.

We love Friday night lights!

The stands fill up, the band gets going, and our community comes together to cheer on the home team. Thereโ€™s something special about high school football right here in St. Francois County.

We love supporting our local athletes and providing standby coverage at high school football games. Weโ€™re there if weโ€™re needed, but weโ€™re always hoping for a great game and a safe night for everyone.

Good luck to all our local teams. Weโ€™re proud to be on your sidelines!

There is an appointment on somebody's list right now that has been moved four times.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the most useful thing we can say is not a statistic. It is this. The screening you keep rescheduling takes about twenty minutes, and the whole point of it is to find something while it is still small and quiet.

If you have been putting it off because life is loud, make the call this week. Put it on the calendar in ink.

Twenty minutes. Then it is done for another year.

Another busy month in St. Francois County. In September, our teams answered ๐Ÿญ,๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฎ ๐˜๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€, holding close to August's 1,763.

Transfers again led the way at 347, with 335 general medical calls close behind.

A few notable shifts this month:

๐Ÿฉน Trauma calls rose from 34 to 50
๐Ÿง  Stroke and neuro calls increased from 62 to 76
๐Ÿš‘ Falls eased off, dropping from 208 to 174
๐Ÿซ€ Heart problem calls came down slightly, from 125 to 123
๐Ÿš— Vehicle accidents continued to trend down, from 66 to 61

Behavioral health calls remained elevated at 139, following August's increase.

Our Mobile Integrated Healthcare team logged ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฑ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜€, steady with August, continuing to help patients manage their care right at home.
