Just in time for SUMMER! A much needed upgrade to the playground equipment at Bliss Park is officially complete and open to the public! Come check it out! (the kids have already found it) 😀

Huge thank you to the City Council for this amazing investment into our City Park, Public Works and Public Properties crew, Ideal Landscaping for the installation and Hutchinson Recreation and Design for the equipment. We hope everyone enjoys this for many years to come!

MARCH 31st PROGRAM....

Courtney Yockey with the Effingham Regional Growth Alliance recently shared insights on the Effingham Regional Manufacturing Collaborative, a partnership of 11 local manufacturers taking a demand-driven approach to building our workforce. Instead of guessing what jobs might be needed, this initiative starts with employers—aligning training, education, and career pathways with real, current job demand.

The result? Fewer skills gaps, stronger ROI for employers and training providers, and a clearer, more streamlined path from education to employment for individuals in our region.

Through a six-part strategy focused on collaboration, data, and continuous improvement, this effort is helping ensure Effingham’s workforce—and business community—are positioned for long-term success.
