This interview with the Talbot Spy centers on Camp Wright, but in the first part Mr. Myron Richardson mentions the Children's Home Foundation's recent lead gift for the shoreline restoration project. Orphans from the original Children's Home were given the opportunity to go to Camp Wright, which is why CHF remains supportive of this wonderful diocesan ministry for children.

Diocese of Easton Mission Team has returned from Wilmington, NC!
We are very excited to have had 32 people (22 students and 10 adults) go on our mission trip to Wilmington, NC last week! Check out our page to see all that God shared with them through their mission work. CHF is happy to have supported this ministry.

Our Thanksgiving Appeal letters are going out to past donors to the Children's Home Foundation. Your contribution helps support students seeking job training at two year colleges, children going to camp who might not otherwise be able to afford it, rookie drivers who need to take Driver's Ed so they can drive to their jobs, and at risk children attending the three Horizons Summer Academic programs on the Eastern Shore. As we move from summer into fall, from camps into classrooms, keep in your prayers all the students starting new paths in school this year. Because of donors like you, a single mother is starting a Certified Nursing Assistant course that will enable her to provide more for her children. Because of your generosity, an unemployed man can earn his CDL to start a new career as a truck driver. Because of you, a recent high school graduate who never thought he could afford college has a chance to take courses which may be just what he needs to become employed. On behalf of the students that CHF supports, thank you for funding education that will offer amazing career opportunities to members of our Eastern Shore communities. Have a happy fall! 🍂

We are honored to present a 2024 Horizons Leadership Award to Joe Laque, Executive Director of Horizons Delmarva (MD)! Joe has been with Horizons Delmarva since 2019. After a year in the role, Joe helped to expand the affiliate’s reach by piloting a site in a new county, and transitioned their name to Horizons Delmarva, allowing room to continue growth throughout the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Joe consistently supports peers throughout the Network with resources and advice, and is known for his creative fundraising campaigns, particularly one where he dyed his hair Horizons colors in support! Congratulations, Joe, and thank you for all you do for Horizons!

🍂The CHF Thanksgiving Appeals letters will be mailed soon, and we hope you will respond as generously as you have in the past. CHF gives scholarships to deserving students for career studies at two year colleges, provides "camperships" for summer camps, supports the three Horizon programs on the Shore, and is increasingly helping with the costs of Driver's Ed classes (in order to get and keep a job, a student has to be able to drive!). Thank you for supporting these deserving students!🍂

The directors of the CHF had the privilege of visiting Old Wye Episcopal Church for our annual end of year picnic. After a brief business meeting, we had the privilege of participating in Morning Prayer in the colonial church, led by Susan Harwood, followed by salads and sandwiches in the fellowship hall. We were pleased to learn how many local students will be enjoying summer experiences thanks to our camperships this summer, and are continually grateful to those of you who support our ministries through our Thanksgiving Appeal. Special thanks to director Bibi Schelberg who organized this event for the second year. 🩷
