SIATech East Los Angeles Independent Study SIATech East Los Angeles Independent Study provides 16-24 yr old students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while learning career skills.

Whether you need to earn a few remaining high school credits or complete an entire high school program, SIATech’s Independent Study Program might be for you. The program is designed for Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) eligible, 16-24 year old students in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles. SIATech provides out-of-school youth the opportunity to attend the Independent Study Pro

gram and earn their high school diploma while learning career valuable skills. The school works in partnership with the PUENTE Learning Center. PUENTE serves as a bridge to oportunity by helping students find meaningful employment and create brighter futures for themselves. SIATech Boyle Heights Independent Study classrooms accepting new students at this free charter high school. The SIATech Independent Study Program is high-tech and highly interactive. Upon admission, each student receives an individual learning plan to outline his or her optimal path to graduation. The school provides a computer lab staffed with qualified instructors that is open Monday through Friday for students to access the curriculum on-site. Students who have computers at home can access the curriculum online to complete coursework anytime, day or night. In addition, at least one hour a week of individualized time with an instructor provides helpful one-on-one attention to ensure students are on track to graduate. The SIATech Independent Study Program’s low student to teacher ratio ensures that each student receives the tools and motivation needed to succeed. SIATech Boyle Heights Independent Study classrooms are open to enroll new students in high school dropout recovery.Like its other classroom-based schools, SIATech’s Independent Study Program provides a robust academic program that emphasizes literacy, numeracy, and workplace readiness skills. The curriculum incorporates common core state standards in an environment of applied academics and software training. The program is aligned with SIATech’s mission of providing Real Learning for Real Life™. Students will graduate with the 21st century skills needed for the workplace and higher education.

You may be eligible to receive up to $365 per child to help feed your family. Because schools are closed due to COVID-19, families who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals can get extra food benefits to help feed their children. These benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT.

Due to coronavirus (COVID 19), children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school will get extra food benefits. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in California buy food when school is closed.

In an abundance of caution and in line with surrounding school districts and the local, state, and federal health and education agencies, all SIATech and SIATech Academy South school sites will be CLOSED through April 3, in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This closure will be effective through April 3, 2020 unless conditions call for an extension. During this period, school sites listed below will be closed and all students should stay home. We will continually monitor the situation and remain in close contact with the appropriate county offices of education and local public health officials throughout the duration of this closure and will provide updates to students, staff and parents as appropriate.

SIATech schools are FREE public high schools where you can continue your education at your own pace. The process begins with a discussion of your goals and review of your previous academic work. Then, you and your teachers design a personalized learning plan. Through small group instruction, individual tutoring, and self-paced study, you will make progress on your learning plan to success. Every step of the way, our principal, teachers, and staff make sure you have the support to finish your courses. We will help you accomplish your goals!
