Economy is looking up. Interest rate hike has signaled the onset of investments flowing in. Some legal regulations on the horizon will disrupt smooth flow of H1s through the market but that should be temporary. Placements will happen so keep pushing quality candidates.

Stay cautious about the following
6,7,8 year candidates
Candidate having current experience with a staffing company
Candidate having american names but having typical resumes
Candidate having the last work location different from where they are currently located
Candidates ready to accept much less pay then what their resume should demand in the market
Candidates having only Indian references
Candidates who know everything and say yes on every question asked
Candidates who suddenly remember they are at work when you start asking them technical questions
Candidates who do not discuss their work authorization and tell to talk to their recruiters about that

Big Data is THE flavour of the coming years. Major clients have already started moving towards those technologies, mid and small will follow suit. Keep Big Data candidates in your arsenal and you would be a step ahead of competition....

The dull period in recruiting is creeping in people. Oct is going to start slow, Nov should be sllooowwww and December will be sllllloooooowww...... recovering only by March. Government contractors might have it good though. Don't be surprised if your guys come off the project during this time. Clients are also cost cutting friendly....-).

creating pool of local candidates can come in very handy for recruiters working for the same client. When you know that the client has the need for a specific skill set then it is advisable to create a list of all the locally available candidates and keep updating them regularly. This way your response time to client reqs will improve tremendously and your submission numbers will outperform others

Please beware of Citizen candidates on the following skills Android, IOS, Sharepoint. They have typical resumes with coloured border and 4-5 years of exp and high rates. They are FAKE for sure. The trick is to let you go to VM then call back with some preparations. Most of the candidates are TNs and some funny names have Asian recruiters calling wearing an American accent -)

Old tricks in new hat will not work. End clients are well aware of the tricks used by H1 companies to furnish the resume with their "Christmas wishlist" so please try to submit only genuine candidates with some dressing not the other way around

Markets are moving fast. If you have a good candidate and he has interviewed with your client do not count that as a placement. He/She might have 2-3 more offers by the time your offer comes through.
