Take Action Today!
Tell the PA General Assembly & Governor Wolf to Support Direct Support Professionals!

The Direct Support Professional Workforce Crisis is continuing here in Pennsylvania.

Unless lawmakers act, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and families will not be able to access the critical and life-sustaining community based services that provide supports in their local communities. Without additional state funding for direct support professionals, providers will have no choice but to cut services or eliminate programs because there simply aren’t enough workers to do the jobs.

But you already know that. You’re on the frontlines of this crisis.

State government is sitting on billions of federal dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and “rainy day” funds that could increase wages to help retain workers and attract and train a new workforce. Yet, even amid this worsening crisis, the money remains unspent as the needs of our most vulnerable residents go unmet.

That’s why we’re taking action --- and we hope you’ll join us.

The Arc of Pennsylvania is partnering with other providers to urge lawmakers to increase funding to support Direct Support Professionals and other human services professionals so individuals with IDD and families in need get the support and care they deserve.

You can help.
