It's been a bit of a journey working on this magazine for the first time. We appreciate everyone's support of our collective and for everyone that participated in this issue. We're a small team, and it's been difficult to do everything we'd like to do, but we hope to create even better things in the future.

The theme for Volume 1, Issue 1 of Haus of the Star magazine is ORIGIN.

Origin refers to a beginning, a rise, a creation. We want to celebrate the start of Haus of the Star's mission to unite local creatives.

Where one comes from—or originates—plays an important role in their journey. How does being in Roanoke impact our subjects and how did they get where they are now? These are topics we will explore in our issue.
