Last week, SER Metro-Detroit had the opportunity to take part in several important conversations and community events focused on access, opportunity and youth support.

On June 12, we participated in the ITS America Conference & Expo panel, “Mobility for All: Cross-Sector Innovation Driving Equitable Mobility Access,” alongside Joe Provenzano of Ford Philanthropy, Konnor Petz of the City of Detroit Mayor’s Office of Mobility and Innovation and Jerina Cleveland of Catch A Ride. The discussion focused on how equitable transportation access requires collaboration across public policy, private industry, community advocacy and philanthropy.

That same day, our team also joined the Occupy the Summer community event, connecting with youth, families and community partners while sharing information about Summer Discover, WIOA ISY/OSY, Foster Care Summer Employment and SYLA.

Earlier in the week, SER Metro-Detroit hosted the CoC Committee on Youth Homelessness Meeting at the Samaritan Center, bringing together organizations committed to supporting vulnerable youth and connecting them to resources, workforce opportunities and long-term support.

Thank you to all the partners, community leaders and organizations who continue to work together to expand access, remove barriers and create stronger pathways for Detroit youth and families.
