This November students at Blue Hills Adult Ed in Dedham collected food to be donated to the Dedham Food Pantry. This annual event is a wonderful way for our students to help those in need.

It was a pleasure to share our data systems with new and veteran program directors and to engage in the great discussions throughout the day! Thank you to ACLS and EDC for this opportunity!

Public Adult Education of MA recently welcomed new and veteran program directors to the New Directors' Orientation at EDC in Waltham, MA.

The interactive session was titled: "Using Data to Drive Decisions" and focused on data, specifically pre-test and MSG, how to develop systems, and how to analyze data. This session was presented by a director Tammy MacDonald and her data manager Adriana Monteiro from Blue Hills Adult Education Center in Dedham, MA.

Thank You, First Literacy, Inc.!

We’re excited to share that Blue Hills Adult Education has received a grant from First Literacy to fund Digital Literacy for the Future — a 4-week summer program that’s filling a big need for our students.

Many of our students have limited digital literacy skills, which makes it harder to access the resources their teachers use and can limit them to only in-person classes. This program helps students build the skills they need to:

✅ Confidently use technology
✅ Access online learning tools
✅ Take advantage of more English learning opportunities — both in-person and online

Thanks to First Literacy’s generosity, our students are gaining the tools they need to succeed in the classroom, at work, and in life.
