Job Summary:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for directing and engaging employees to achieve productivity goals while coordinating and participating in daily operations such as shipping, receiving, and fulfillment planning under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Lead is also responsible for supporting the Warehouse Supervisor in their absence, leading sub-projects appointed by management, and mentoring employees to operational excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Mentor and train warehouse personnel.
• Ability to delegate when assigning employee workloads.
• Work in unison with other departments.
• Constant communication with warehouse team for support and engagement.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Observe and adhere to all safety policies and practices.
• Maintain warehouse in accordance with housekeeping policies and standards.
• Assist management in validating quality control issues and any NSF audit requirements.
• Use proper material handling equipment to fulfill any warehouse function.
• Assist with all receiving, shipping, and inventory organization operations through RF device.
• Receive and process inbound products, ensuring contents match manifest documents.
• Inspect receivables for defects, damages, or missing items.
• Picks, packs, and prepares orders for fulfillment and verifies the accuracy and quality of outgoing orders.
• Unload, stack, move, transfer, and place product in various sections of the warehouse as needed.
• Process small parcel orders (UPS/FedEx) and samples orders accordingly.
• Store product adhering to directed put away rules in the system.
• Process returns in accordance with return company policy.
• Performed detailed cycle count as directed through the system.
• Replenish forward picking locations as required.
• Provide exceptional service to will call or any customers that step within the warehouse.
• Maintain relevant warehouse logs and records.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to management for quick resolution.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook.
• Possess the leadership skills to effectively lead warehouse team.
• Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines through strong decision-making skills.
• Proficient with WMS systems input and output, including RF device.
• Safely operate all relevant material handling equipment.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proven leadership experience in a warehouse setting with at least 2 years of experience.
• Forklift certification or ability to successfully complete forklift training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Fast paced position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
