If so, we have a highly respected neurosurgeon’s office located far north Dallas, looking for an experienced, high performing front office medical assistant that thrives on providing excellent patient care.
The front office desk assistant works independently, and without direct supervision. Possesses strong communication, telephone, and customer service skills. Detailed oriented and able to multitask. Meets and greets patients, obtain and document vitals, with majority of workload requiring input data entry.
JOB DUTIES:
Handles incoming and outgoing calls, transfers calls, take messages, retrieves messages from voicemail and returns calls.
Schedule or reschedule appointments for patients. Verify appointments with patients a day in advanced of scheduled appointment.
Greet patients, collect, and input new patient’s paperwork into electronic chart
Communicate with patients prior to their appointment to verify insurance information, process phone consults and transcribe into chart
Prepare clinic charts, break down and scan charts into electronic medical record when discharged, upload patient’s MRI images to chart
Collect and process co-payments
Takes some general diagnostic information including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height and records for the doctor's use at the visit.
Maintain effective communication between patient, providers, and other clinical staff.
Assist with clinic prep, keeps the office clean and presentable, doing spot cleaning throughout the day and thorough cleaning at the end of each business day.
Complies with federal HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and security of patient information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent- Required
Medical Assistant Certification- Preferred
Previous experience as a patient care tech, secretary, medical assistant, or administrative assistant is Required.
Must be computer literate. eClinicalWorks knowledge helpful
At least 2 years’ experience working in a customer service environment and medical office setting is Required
Medical insurance/billing process is a plus
Medical Terminology is Required
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Strong customer service skills.
Experience in Spine or Orthopedics a plus
Shift: Days M-F 8-4:30p. No weekends or holidays
Salary: $16-$20/hr
