⚡🚗 We're launching a pilot program to modernize our fleet with electric and hybrid vehicles to reduce long-term costs, lower emissions, and maintain the high level of service our residents expect.

With 15 vehicles across Police, Fire, and Code Enforcement, this pilot will help us evaluate real-world performance while building a more sustainable and fiscally responsible future for our community.

🚗KY 8 Licking River Bridge Closure: Vehicle Detour🚗

Traveling between Covington and Newport after the KY 8 Licking River Bridge closes the week of January 12. Use the Girl Scout Bridge (KY 1120/MLK Jr. Blvd./11th Street in Newport).

Following the closure -- We’ll be evaluating the corridor for traffic patterns during peak travel times, evaluating signal timing/phasing and making other adjustments to improve traffic flow. Remember, this is the official signed detour; however, there are other bridges (Brent Spence Bridge, Clay Wade Bailey, Taylor Southgate) to get you from one city to the next depending on your route.

Stay tuned tomorrow on our Facebook channel for an announcement on a specific date/time for when the bridge will be closed to all users.
