What attorney Jake Brandt is proud of this month

An injured Ohio worker came to us with a serious wrist injury. His surgeon believed several ligaments were torn and said he needed surgery soon, because waiting could leave him with permanent damage.

His employer refused to add those injuries to his workers’ comp claim. Without that, the surgery couldn’t move forward.

Jake took it to a hearing and won. The employer appealed. Jake went back and won again.

Now our client can move forward with the surgery his doctor says he needs. That’s what Jake is proud of: clearing the way so an injured worker can get the care he needs.

One client. Two cases. Years of work.

Our relationship with this client began with his Ohio Workers’ Compensation claim. As his circumstances changed, Attorney Casaundra Johnson and our team also helped him pursue Social Security Disability.

This month, the decision came in: approved.

For nearly 20 years, a Veteran who served during the Iraq war lived with severe PTSD — but was receiving only a minimal disability rating.

He had nearly given up.

Our Veterans Benefits Attorney, Casaundra Johnson, reviewed his file and saw what others had missed. She prepared and submitted a detailed appeal — more than 700 pages of medical records, service history, and legal argument.
