Basic Functions and Scope of Responsibilities:
1. Establishes recruiting requirements by reviewing organization plans and objectives.
2. Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting potential centers, and participating in career fairs.
3. Screens and interviews job applicants to select those meeting client criteria.
4. Reviews employment applications and evaluates work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications of applicants to determine match.
5. Records additional knowledge, skills, abilities, interests, test results, and other data pertinent to selection and referral of applicants into Resource system.
6. Reviews job orders and matches applicants with job requirements, utilizing manual or computerized file search.
7. Informs applicants of job duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits, work schedules and working conditions, company policies, promotional opportunities, and other related information. Refers selected applicants to person placing job order, according to policy of organization.
8. Keeps records of applicants not selected for employment and the reasons for non-selection.
9. Performs reference and background checks on all applicants via established processes.
10. May evaluate selection and placement techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel.
11. May specialize in interviewing and referring certain types of personnel, such as professional, technical, managerial, clerical, and other types of skilled or unskilled workers.

Material Handlers maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory and getting them ready to ship out in a timely fashion previous warehouse experience is a plus.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Performs the unloading, loading, staging, and warehousing of cartons
Practices safe and secure material handling methods and distributes merchandise properly according to standards.
Verifies purchase orders, location numbers, case pack quantities, and other information prior to receiving, picking, or loading merchandise.
Practices safe and secure loading methods to maximize space.
Completes documentation neatly and accurately.
Performs spot checks of system to ensure merchandise is sorted properly.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift cartons/bins weighing approximately 10-50 pounds repetitively.
Basic reading comprehension and numerical reasoning skills.
Manual dexterity.
Some job functions are performed in the standing position.
Must be available to work the assigned hours at the work site at the times identified.

Principal Responsibilities:

Purpose: The Merchandise Processor in the Retail Department is an entry-level position that is responsible for the manual support of handling merchandise through the shipping process by consistent loading of direct or retail merchandise, promotional store sets, and store supplies onto semi-trailers. The Merchandise Processor is also responsible for inducting merchandise onto the direct shipping sorter.

Core Accountabilities: Able to lift, stack and load merchandise cartons onto and off conveyor lines, semi-trailers, pallets, etc.

Pull open damaged box/bag from chute and set aside on floor for further inspection

Pull and stack boxes from retail no read line or induction return line

Able to comprehend, in English, number and/or letter sequences

Able to pay attention to detail - Able to remain flexible to change and willing to move around to other areas within Distribution Center

Must be detail oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy

Must be able to achieve at least 75% of productivity goal

Responsible for tracking individual production

Able to work independently or as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS OF WAREHOUSE ORDER PICKERS:
• Works well with peers
• High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
• Some experience in a warehouse setting desirable.
• Ability to operate powered pallet jack safely and efficiently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
