What Memorial Day Means to Me
Memorial Day is more than the backyard barbeques π, the long weekend vibes π, or the family gatherings π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦.
For me β as a combat veteran ποΈ β itβs deeper than that.
Itβs about the footprints of the past π£β¦ the Elder warriors who walked before us, fought before us, and sacrificed so we could stand where we are today. In our cultures, we call that ancestry πͺΆ β the lineage, the legacy, the bloodline of strength that carried us forward.
I think about every step they tookβ¦ every battle they facedβ¦ every door they opened so I could be here, living in my purpose ππ½.
Because of them, I know I must leave my own footprints β walk with intention, stand in purpose, and make sure the next generation has something solid to stand on tomorrow π
.
Thatβs what Memorial Day is to me.
A day of honor. A day of reflection. A day of purpose.
πΊπΈ Remembering the fallen. Walking in gratitude. Leaving footprints for tomorrow.
