In 1937 the United States Congress passed the National Apprenticeship Act during a period of the “Great Depression”. During this time, communities across this nation experienced poverty, businesses were closing and job loss was at an all time high. As our Country came together to revive its economic recovery, Registered Apprenticeship was one of the approaches utilized to create rapid employment that gave an ordinary worker a chance at earning fair wages in high demand careers. NAW is now an event celebrated each year around the world (including the United Kingdom).
On this first day of Apprenticeship Week, CCME Training Service is honored to celebrate with the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship 2026 theme: America at Work: “Making America Skilled Again” through RegisteredApprenticeship. This NAW week also Aligns with the celebration of the United States 250th Freedom anniversary on July 04.
April 26-May 02 Happy Apprenticeship Week to all the apprentices, sponsors, journeymen, journey-workers, OA, SAA and educators.
