🎰 Few cities blend sports, entertainment, hospitality, and live events quite like Las Vegas!

On Tuesday, aspiring sports professionals gathered at Las Vegas Ballpark for the Las Vegas Sports & Entertainment Career Expo hosted by the Las Vegas Aviators, connecting candidates with organizations from across the West!

With more than 100 open roles in the area and nearly every corner of the industry represented, attendees had the opportunity to network and learn about the many career paths available throughout the Las Vegas sports landscape.

πŸŽ™οΈ Executives and hiring managers from across the industry were on hand to share advice and connect with attendees, including:

πŸ’‘ A few themes stood out throughout the event:

πŸ‘‰ Behind every posting is an organization trying to solve a problem. They’re not hiring because they have extra money to spend or because they want to fill a seat. They’re hiring because something needs to be improved.

πŸ‘‰ Asking better questions matters. The strongest candidates show they understand the role by asking questions in an interview tied to the organization’s goals and challenges.

πŸ‘‰ Employers notice candidates who are genuinely interested in the work, not just interested in working in sports. In an interview, let your experience guide you and help show your interest in the role more than wanting to work for your home team.

Organizations in attendance included the Las Vegas Aviators, Las Vegas Ballpark, Athletics, Allegiant Stadium, Seaport Entertainment, Las Vegas Lights FC, UFC, TKO, Zuffa Boxing, PGA of America, S.A.F.E. Management, Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), Fanatics, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Living Sport, Paradise Card Breaks, RevPro, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Sonoma Raceway, Las Vegas Desert Dogs, and TeamWork Online.

⚾️ The day concluded with game night at Las Vegas Ballpark as the Aviators hosted the Reno Aces!

βš–οΈ Sports law’s biggest stage was in Chicago, the 2026 Sports Lawyers Association Conference did not disappoint!

More than 1,200 professionals gathered for the 2026 Sports Lawyers Association Annual Conference, setting a new attendance record and bringing together attorneys, law students, professors, and industry leaders from across the sports landscape.

One of the conference’s most notable milestones was the continued growth of the Women’s Breakfast, which welcomed more than 200 attendees and reflected the increasing presence and influence of women throughout the sports law profession.

πŸŽ™οΈ The conference opened with a β€œPathways to Sports Law” panel moderated by Aaron Hernandez, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of the Allan β€œBud” Selig Sports Law and Business Program at Arizona State University.

Panelists included:
🏈 George McCaskey, Chairman, Chicago Bears
⚽ Logan Deeney, Senior Legal Counsel, Orlando City SC & Orlando Pride
⚾ Meghan Pirics, Senior Counsel, Milwaukee Brewers
🏈 Kaleisha Stuart, Deputy General Counsel, Dallas Cowboys

πŸ’‘ A few standout insights from the discussion:

πŸ‘‰ Learn all the opportunities to be a lawyer, not just in a team’s legal department, but there are roles with law firms and other roles around sport needing the skills of lawyers.

πŸ‘‰ Develop strong relationship skills. The panel even recommended that good litigation attorneys have a nice rapport with opposing counsel!

πŸ‘‰ Be a good story teller. While it looks like trial attorneys come up with their opening or closing statements off the cuff, they are well rehearsed. Good story-telling is valuable in interviews as well.

If you are a law student or a lawyer seeking to get into the Sports Business, we strongly encourage you to join the Sports Lawyers Association. Membership carries our TeamWorkU benefits.
