May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we hope mental health support in aviation continues to move in the right direction. ✈️
The Mental Health in Aviation Act of 2025, passed the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation this April. It is a bipartisan effort aimed at reducing stigma and modernizing how mental health is handled for pilots and air traffic controllers.
The focus is clear: encourage proactive care by removing punitive barriers, updating medical certification processes, and allowing professionals to seek help without putting their careers at risk.
For flight departments, this matters. Supporting mental health isn’t just compliance, it’s critical to safety, performance, and retention.
