This week is National Nurses Week, and it’s a reminder of something simple but often overlooked: healthcare doesn’t function without nurses.
They’re the first line of care and the constant in a system that rarely slows down. They show up for patients on their hardest days, navigate staffing shortages, and carry an incredible amount of responsibility with skill, compassion, and resilience.
To every nurse — in hospitals, clinics, long-term care, and everywhere in between — thank you.
And to the organizations working to support them: this week is also a reminder that appreciation can’t just be words once a year. It has to show up in how we recruit, staff, schedule, and retain them every single day.
At VisaNurse, we see firsthand the dedication of Canadian RNs stepping into permanent roles across the U.S. and the hospitals working to build more stable, long-term nursing teams. The demand is growing — but so is the opportunity to do it better.
Happy National Nurses Week to the people who make healthcare possible.
