Position: General Laborer
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.
Shift: 7AM-4PM
Experience Required: One year of plant experience is highly desirable
Education Required: High School graduate or equivalent; Associates Degree in Science Field is preferred.
Job Summary: Good mobility, physical agility, physical strength, and physical balance are required when obtaining barrel samples from the barrel warehouses. Dexterity of hands, fingers, and feet is required since laboratory work is manual while standing on your feet for an extended period of time. Physical strength for moving large sample volumes and large re-distillation is required. Good hand and eye coordination is needed to perform key activities such as barrel sampling, sample preparation, and handling the products that are to be tested.
Job Responsibilities:
To schedule, prepare, and conduct appropriate analyses of samples in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner according to the written laboratory methods, quality control standards, good laboratory and safety practices, and procedures to determine that finished product meet specifications.
To accurately document test results and enter those in the Enterprise Resource Program (SAP) to ensure adherence to customer and internal specifications in support of the company’s quality program within all strategic platforms.
Coordinate all alcohol sample shipments per Salesforce and customer requests.
Job Skills/Abilities:
-Ability to be a service provider to Operations and Customers in support of the platforms.
-Ability to accurately analyze samples and make disposition decisions.
-Ability to effectively organize sample workload and prioritize analyzes.
-Requires strong multi-tasking skill.
Physical Requirements:
-Type of Equipment Operated: Includes frequently used office equipment, computer software programs, manuals, books, or other written resources, hand tools, power tools, two-way radios, and other tools/equipment/resources; Includes use of sanitation equipment and lab/field equipment.
-Daily use of common and specialized laboratory instruments is required (UV, IR, DMA, Turbidimeter, etc.).
Computer workstations, printers, copiers, and fax are used on a regular basis.
-Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other business software (such as Enterprise Resource Planning software-SAP) is required.
What other training and/or certification are necessary?
Microsoft Office/Excel.
SAP.
Dangerous Goods/DOT/IATA Certification for alcohol shipments.
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Quality Alcohol Sensory Panelists testing.
