We all have those days when we’re running on empty. Work, life, and everything in between can take a lot out of us.

But sometimes we get so caught up in getting everything done that we forget to check in with each other.

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to say you’re overwhelmed. And you don’t have to wait until you’re at your breaking point.

And if you’re a leader, check in on your people. Not just on their work, but on them.

A little kindness and understanding can go a long way!

You have 30 seconds. Will your resume make it?

Here are the top 5 things we look for:

1. Does your experience match the job?
We’re looking for the obvious connection. If the role requires executive support and you’ve done it, make sure we can see it quickly.

2. What have you actually accomplished?
Don’t just tell us what you were responsible for. Show us what you did, improved, managed, built or accomplished.

3. Is your resume easy to read?
Clear formatting, strong headings and concise bullets go a long way.

4. Does your resume tell a consistent story?
Your career doesn’t have to be perfectly linear. But we should be able to understand what you do, what you’re good at and where you’re headed.

5. Did you tailor it to a specific job?
A resume that looks like it was created by AI and is generic, is easy to spot.

Your resume doesn’t need to tell us everything. It needs to make us want to know more!

Two years ago, Kate Beam stepped into our Temporary Division at a time when there was a lot going on.

And Kate did what Kate does…she quietly rolled up her sleeves, figured things out, and ran with it.

That’s the thing about Kate. She may not be the loudest person in the room, but don’t mistake quiet for not making an impact. She’s our own quiet storm, wise beyond her years, incredibly strong, hardworking, and somehow able to bring a little humor and good stories to lighten the mood when we need it!

Over the past two years, she’s taken on change, challenges, and plenty of moving parts with a steadiness that we’ve come to really count on. And with even more change ahead…a move and a wedding…we’re incredibly happy to have Kate right where she is, right in the middle of it.
Plus, anyone who can manage a Temporary Division AND be a dedicated fur mom to Gus and Millie deserves some serious credit. 🐾
