Happy Anniversary to Us! 🌟

What started with an idea became a reality when Russ Larko opened the doors to The Larko Group in 1993 and never looked back.

Today, we are Larko, a women-owned organization led by Amy Larko Falanga and Andrea Newman building on those same values while expanding our team and our reach nationwide.

But what we value most are the people who made it all possible.
The people who became part of the Larko team.
The clients who started as clients and became friends.
The candidates who trusted us and who we just knew were going to be the perfect fit.
The team that stayed positive when everything went exactly according to plan… and especially when absolutely nothing did.
The quick conversations that were never quick, but always meaningful.

Want to get to know Izzy a little better? Keep reading!

Growing up in Mount Prospect, Illinois, Izzy has always called the Chicagoland area home. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and quickly discovered that helping people was exactly where she wanted to build her career.

She got her start in Human Resources as a People Shared Services Representative, supporting the employee experience and onboarding for a technology company. It didn't take long to realize that recruiting was the perfect fit. Building relationships, getting to know candidates, and helping people find opportunities they can truly get excited about is what energizes her most. Joining Larko felt like a natural next step, offering the chance to learn from an experienced team while being part of a collaborative, people-first culture.

Outside of the office you'll likely find Izzy planning her next adventure. She's already visited 21 countries and is always looking for the next stamp in her passport. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, weightlifting, catching live concerts, playing video games, and hanging out with her tuxedo cat, Sadie.

Where did the summer go?

This time of year brings so many emotions; excitement, pride, a little bit of nostalgia, and maybe even a few tears.

For those sending a child off to college, it’s a milestone that feels both like a beginning and an ending. The backpacks, first-day photos, and dorm room drop-offs represent so much more than a new school year, they represent independence, possibility, and a future full of opportunity.

It’s a reminder that growth happens when we step into the unknown, embrace new experiences, and continue learning along the way.

As we watch the next generation begin their journeys, it’s worth asking ourselves: How do we keep that same sense of curiosity and excitement alive in our own lives and careers?

The Larko team is currently seeking participants who currently have, or have previously had, a mortgage or home loan to participate in a paid usability testing study on behalf of our client in Oak Brook, IL.

If selected, you'll participate in one 1–2 hour testing session during the project dates provided. This is a great opportunity to share your feedback while getting paid for your time.

Don’t let opportunities pass you by because they don’t look exactly how you imagined.

We’ve seen it happen many times. Candidates pass on a conversation because the title isn’t quite right, the commute is a little longer than they’d hoped, or the job description wasn’t exactly what they expected.

The best career moves and the best hires often start with a conversation, not a perfect fit on paper.

You don’t have to say yes to every opportunity. But don’t say no before you’ve learned enough to make an informed decision.

That one conversation could lead to the role or the future you didn’t even know you were looking for.

Don’t let opportunities pass you by simply because they arrived in a different package than you expected.
