After 33 years, we are shuttering the doors of Bloom, Gross & Associates. Karen Bloom is retiring and with that, the business, too. At Bloom, Gross & Associates we specialized in the recruitment of PR/corporate communications and marketing professionals. We assisted close to 2000 people in advancing their careers, working with almost 350 different client companies. The partnerships we created were a source of great pride but none more so than the one with PRWeek, where for twelve years we sponsored the PRWeek/Bloom, Gross & Associates Salary Survey. Karen was fortunate to not only judge the PRWeek Awards on seven occasions but to also serve twice on the committee that helped review the survey data for the PRWeek Best Places to Work competition.

While those accomplishments may seem notable, nothing can compare to the longevity of the wonderful staff who worked at Bloom, Gross & Associates over the past 33 years, quite a number of them for more than 10 years with two who were affiliated with the firm for 19 and 23 years, respectively. There is nothing more rewarding than long term relationships with competent people who are instrumental in helping build a widely respected company. A special thanks goes out to ALL the people who worked here over the years.

Happily, four of the former staff are continuing their careers as recruiters and can be found in their new homes. Tina Carroll Dugas and Jocelyn Hecht both joined Chaloner Associates, Lori Gross is with The NLP Group and Shabnam Singh works for Capstone Hill Search.

As we close this business, there is no way to thank everyone who played a role and whose path crossed ours. We wish health and happiness for you and success in all of your future endeavors.

Out of concern for the people in our community who are experiencing hunger, Bloom, Gross & Associates has chosen to donate to the Greater Chicago Food Depository this holiday season.

The Food Depository is part of a united community effort working to bring food, dignity and hope to our Cook County neighbors. Acting as the hub for a network of more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs, they provide food where it’s most needed. Additionally, they address the root causes of hunger with public benefits outreach and job training programs that offer support for our neighbors to overcome poverty.
