This trifecta truly helps candidates stand out in a crowded room.

Remember that being a people person is derived from being confident.

Having the necessary skills, simply means you've invested time into professional development.

And implementation simply means that you have the courage and conviction to *follow through*.

You got this! 🌟

The tech industry has had a long-standing diversity and inclusion issue, but it’s time to take the matter into our own hands.

On National Techies Day, let’s start conversations with our BIPOC youth about considering technology as a career option. We can show our BIPOC communities that the tech industry is an open and viable career option.

Beyond that, employers can also make a significant impact by investing their time and resources into impactful programs. Let us know how we can help.

Happy National Techies Day! 👩🏽‍💻

You would be surprised at how many job searchers haven't thought to update their email address to a more professional-sounding one.

One problem many candidates come across is the email address they wanted was taken. So here are a few tips on how to snag a professional-sounding email when you have a common name or a name that has already been taken with your email service provider.

1️⃣ Try underscores, periods, and switching your name.
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

2️⃣ Try your name with initials
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

3️⃣ Shorten your name when appropriate. For example, Mohammed may commonly go by Mo with his colleagues and friends if they choose. So shortening their email to [email protected] may be suitable.

4️⃣ Use a shortened version of your job title or description. For example, if you work as a Social Media Manager, you may use [email protected].

5️⃣ You can also try personalizing the email with a greeting or a personal prefix. These tend to be more fun and personable. Here are some examples:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

6️⃣ Although this is the last resort, adding one or two numbers is fine as long as you limit them. An example would be [email protected].

You've probably experienced this before. You're on Zoom with someone and you notice their eyes are shifted downwards at their screen. They don't mean to be rude, but you know that they're likely looking at themselves or something else has their attention.

On the flipside, if you've ever watched a video where the speaker is looking directly into the camera, you'll notice a shift in your feelings towards them. You're immediately more trusting of them and they will seem more open, honest, and direct.

You want to be that open, honest, and direct person next time you interview! Looking directly into the camera can help you achieve this, while also forcing you to give your full, undivided attention to the interviewer's questions and providing the best possible responses without worrying about how you look.
