You've probably experienced this before. You're on Zoom with someone and you notice their eyes are shifted downwards at their screen. They don't mean to be rude, but you know that they're likely looking at themselves or something else has their attention.
On the flipside, if you've ever watched a video where the speaker is looking directly into the camera, you'll notice a shift in your feelings towards them. You're immediately more trusting of them and they will seem more open, honest, and direct.
You want to be that open, honest, and direct person next time you interview! Looking directly into the camera can help you achieve this, while also forcing you to give your full, undivided attention to the interviewer's questions and providing the best possible responses without worrying about how you look.
