💙🧡 ANOTHER BUSY WEEK FOR UVA PIPELINES & PATHWAYS! From preparing new healthcare professionals for success to strengthening community partnerships, our team had another great week connecting people, opportunities, and resources!
🏥 Preparing UVA Health's Newest Earn While You Learn Employees for Success! This week, our team facilitated Workplace Readiness and Emotional Intelligence training for two incoming UVA Health Earn While You Learn (EWYL) cohorts:
✅ October 12 – Patient Access Associates: We worked with newly hired Access Associates to strengthen essential workplace skills, including professionalism, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and navigating challenging patient interactions.
✅ October 14 – Patient Care Technicians: We provided interactive training for 22 incoming PCT students, focusing on self-awareness, empathy, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and effective communication in healthcare settings.
Through discussions and hands-on activities, participants explored strategies for building positive workplace relationships, delivering patient-centered care, and successfully transitioning into their new roles.
🤝 Strengthening Community Connections!
On October 15, P&P attended UVA's inaugural 2026 Community Engagement Summit at Newcomb Hall, organized by the The Center for Community Partnerships at UVA.
Centered around the theme "Co-Creating a Thriving Community," the sold-out event brought together community organizations, UVA faculty, staff, students, and local leaders to share ideas, build relationships, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Our team enjoyed connecting with community partners, strengthening existing relationships, and exploring new ways to expand access to employment, workforce training, career development, and supportive resources.
