Everyone talks about their future…but do you actually know what yours looks like?

In partnership with the Ingram Institute SERVE Pathways Program, 4 MSOT first year students led activities to support "HEAL day with the Heels" to help educate 30 local students about occupation & OT as a potential career. High school students rotated through five stations that explored occupations and tools such as dressing, adapted scissors for "haircuts," grip strength (Are you stronger than a rock climber?), stereognosis & supporting participation with "splints" made from cereal boxes.

Ingram Institute SERVE Pathways Program Assistant Director Nicole Cornett supported thinking of hands-on stations and activities with the goal of high school students learning, “I had no idea occupational therapists did all of that—or that this could be a career for me.”

Comprender, apreciar y conectarse con las diferentes culturas que los terapeutas ocupacionales identifican y con las que interactúan crea mejores terapeutas y comunidades de atención.

Understanding, appreciating & connecting with the many different cultures occupational therapists identify & engage with builds better therapists & communities of care.
