On this week’s : How to Correct an Over Pinched Form
‼️This MasterTip is SO IMPORTANT‼️
By removing the form to open an over pinched c-curve, the natural oils from your fingertips as well dust will contaminate the adhesive side of the form. This causes the tabs to lose adhesion and they will constantly pop open. Enjoy!

Our for the week:
“Stop CLEANSING as part of your prep!”
(To see the FULL VIDEO, please request to join our Masterworks Gels ✨ Facebook group)

In the words of Amy Becker, “Just because it’s always been done, does NOT mean it is the right thing or the best thing to do. At Masterworks, we are always testing out products and techniques to discover the best methods for nail techs.

We have recently discovered that the use of a nail dehydrator is redundant because after the nail is prepped for enhancement application, you have already removed any oils or contaminants that were on the surface on the nail plate with the file.
Using a harsh solvent (which is exactly what a nail dehydrator is), is not only ineffective, it actually can further damage the nail plate.

Years ago, we discovered that base gels are completely unnecessary and actually cause lifting for many nail techs, instead of preventing them. The only product necessary to prevent lifting is a good bonder. If the nails are correctly prepped and the gel is applied without touching the cuticle and with a good bonder, there will not be lifting.

We prepare the nail plate for enhancement application and use a stiff manicuring brush to remove any dust or debris. However, DUST WILL NOT CAUSE LIFTING! We then apply our Masterbond and then immediately apply the gel. So, we keep it REALLY SIMPLE! Save yourself time and money by following these steps. Please leave your thoughts below! ✨”

Have your tried our yet? MasterGel is our signature product, specially formulated for strong, long lasting performance with little to no heat when curing. Here are a few facts about our MasterGel:

- MasterGel is HYPOALLERGENIC: According to Webster’s dictionary definition, hypoallergenic is defined as “having little likelihood of causing an allergic response.” There is not a single reported case of any client or technician having an allergic reaction to our MasterGel products as they do not contain the allergen methacrylate. To the contrary, MasterGel has saved the careers of numerous nail techs who have gone on to excel in the nail industry.

- MasterGel is LOW/NO HEAT: We as professional nail techs should NEVER accept hard gels with an extreme heat spike! There is no reason for any gel to have a heat spike because the technology is available. We recommend using a UV lamp with our MasterGel, as UV will cure the product all the way through with little to no heat. LED & Hybrid lamps not only lead to heat spikes, but also to health issues if your product is not hypoallergenic as these lamps often do not fully cure hard gel products.

- MasterGel is ODORLESS: A Masterworks nail tech can make an upwards of $5000+ over an acrylic nail tech. The toxic odors from acrylics not only create health problems for nail techs, but they also prevent us from working in places where we can generate the greatest income for ourselves.

- MasterGel is STRONGER THAN ACRYLIC: Masterworks has not found any other nail enhancement product that is stronger than our MasterGel. The enhancements we are referring to include (but are not limited to): acrylics, dip systems, tip and wrap overlays, etc. The chemical make up of MasterGel is much stronger and more durable than even the best acrylic. The best analogy between MasterGel and all brands of acrylic is this: MasterGel would be similar to a plastic bottle while acrylic is very similar to a brick. A brick may be harder than the plastic bottle, but upon impact, such as being dropped from a rooftop, will reveal both of their strengths. A brick will shatter into a million pieces, while the plastic bottle will remain intact. Harder DOES NOT mean stronger.

- MasterGel is a STABLE GEL: MasterGel is a stable gel and cannot be over cured. Gels that can be over cured can have challenges and issues if clients spend any time outside, making them unstable. This results in product breakage, air pockets, and discoloration.

- MasterGel is STAIN RESISTANT: When MasterGel is used as a sealant, it resists staining 2-3x better than a soakable or tackless sealant. This is especially helpful for nail techs performing services on hair dressers in the salon.
