We are here to help educate people to know where to go, and where they can get help (financially, low cost vaccine clinics/spay/neuter etc...), rather than dropping their pets at already full shelters or letting them run the streets. Cedar Lake (and surrounding area) located in Northwest Indiana is our main target and anyone who lives in NWI knows that there is a prominent animal over population p
roblem, and few outlets or places to help resolve this issue. Unfortunately NWI is full of poverty ridden city's and towns. This has caused the number of homeless animals to sky rocket. Our focus is to not only help rescue and save the lives of these animals, but also to potentially "save" their owners as well. We also work as an "in between" to help connect needy animals with willing rescues when we are not able to help. We also recruit people willing to foster in attempt to save forgotten pets that are at high kill shelters. We want to build relationships with many local rescues to help better the odds of placing homeless pets into safe havens. Although ROF is a very small organization, we are able to work closely with all animals we come across to ensure that we can match them with the perfect home and work locally in attempt to educate and help people in NWI and surrounding areas get assistance with strays and animals of their own. Unlike some places, we do not have a limit as to how far we'll let our arms stretch. Whether you live in Lake County, IN, across the border into Illinois, or if you're just passing through. Dogs, Cats, strays, ferals, domestic, young, old, sick, healthy. We're here to help educate you.
