An effective seasonal hiring strategy doesn’t end when the busy season does. 🍂

The weeks right after peak demand are one of the best times to review what actually happened:

👥 Did you have enough people in the right places?
⏱️ Did hiring start early enough?
📋 Were job expectations accurate?
🔁 Which seasonal employees would you gladly hire again?

A better seasonal hiring strategy starts with learning from the last cycle instead of automatically repeating it.

Read about it in our new article:

Don't repeat last season's hiring plan by default. Learn how to review seasonal hiring results and build a stronger strategy before you hire again.

Knowing how to use AI is a valuable skill, but knowing when to question it is just as important. 🤔

This month saw two major conferences, IJCAI-ECAI in Bremen, Germany and Ai4 in Las Vegas, continue to highlight questions of reliability, transparency, human oversight, and what happens as AI systems are given more autonomy, as well as how jobs and workforce expectations may change as AI becomes part of more everyday work.

As recruiters, that tells us something about what “AI skills” are going to look like going forward.

Being “good at AI” can’t just mean knowing how to use the tools. As more people use AI in their day-to-day work, subject-matter expertise, critical thinking, and the judgment to recognize when something doesn’t look right will increasingly separate those who are truly proficient from those who just know how to write a prompt. 🧭

Recognizing the difference is important for both employers thinking about what jobs and responsibilities may look like in the future and job seekers deciding which skills they need to stay competitive.

We know the technology is going to keep changing, and that means the workplace will likely continue to change as well. When AI can produce an answer instantly, the most valuable skill may be knowing which answers to trust.🧠

Will AI really take your job? 🤖➡️🪑

Depending on who you ask, AI is either about to eliminate huge numbers of jobs or create a wave of new opportunities. So how do you know who to believe, or what these changes could actually mean for your future? 🤔

Will your skills still be valuable in a few years?

Should you be taking courses, earning certifications, or considering a new field entirely?

Is your job actually at risk?

In our latest article, we try to bring some clarity to the conversation by looking at what’s already changing, what’s still uncertain, and what workers should actually pay attention to in their own fields.

No one can predict exactly how AI will affect every role, but knowing what to watch and how to prepare can help you respond to real changes without overreacting to predictions that may never come true. 🧭

Resume prompt injection is a new twist on an old job-search concern: “How do I get past the system and in front of a person?”

Using this tactic, candidates may hide keywords, qualifications, or even instructions in resumes to try to influence automated screening. That raises clear ethical concerns and can give one candidate an unfair advantage over others. It can also add more work for recruiters who have to verify application materials, which can in turn contribute to the same slow decisions and poor communication job seekers are already frustrated by. ⚠️

At the same time, the idea that candidates need to outwit AI systems points to a larger issue employers shouldn't downplay: a lack of trust among job seekers who aren't sure how their application is being reviewed—or whether they ever had a chance to get their resume in front of a real person.

🔎 Our latest article looks at how resume prompt injection works, why candidates may be turning to it, and what employers can do to protect the integrity of the hiring process while rebuilding trust with job seekers.

📋 You know you need to hire. But should the role be permanent from the first day? Or would temp-to-hire make more sense?

The answer isn’t one-size-fits-all. Candidate availability, role clarity, urgency, and long-term expectations can all change which hiring model works best.

Our latest article breaks down when each hiring model may be the better fit, as well as what employers should consider before deciding.

This month, we’ve had our eye on two major research events: the Association for Computational Linguistics Annual Meeting in San Diego and the International Conference on Machine Learning in Seoul. 🤖

AI and machine learning are particularly important for us to follow because their effects aren’t limited to one industry or a small group of technical roles. As these technologies become part of more products, processes, and workplaces, they can influence both the jobs companies need to fill and the expectations placed on existing employees.

We’re not trying to guess which individual paper or demonstration will lead to the next major product. What’s more useful from a staffing perspective is seeing where researchers and industry teams are directing their attention.

The areas they’re exploring today can offer an early look at the technologies companies may invest in next, as well as how jobs may eventually change to build, support, oversee, or work alongside them.

Of course, research doesn’t translate into hiring demand overnight. Some ideas take years to reach the workplace, and many never do. But hiring trends don’t begin with a job posting. They take shape earlier, as companies explore new tools, capabilities, and ways of working.

That’s why conferences like ACL and ICML are relevant, even if you’re not a machine learning engineer or AI researcher. The work being discussed there may eventually influence employers, job seekers, and roles well beyond the AI field itself. 📈
