I'm Raya , a 3-year-old Cane Corso, and right now I'm waiting at the SCV Animal Care Center.
I try to be brave when people walk by my kennel... but if I'm honest, I'm scared they don't really see me.
They see a big black dog.
And...they keep walking.
I don’t know why others are taken home and not me. It feels like my dark coat somehow makes me harder to love.
But I promise you... there is so much more to me.
I have a gentle heart that just wants to belong. I’m playful, and have so much love to give, I just don't know where to put it yet. Every day, I wait, hoping that someone will see past my color...and look into my soul instead.
I’m probably best as your only pup right now, but If you choose me I will give you everything I have - my loyalty, my love, my whole heart. I will be your protector, your quiet comfort on hard days.
I don't want to grow up in a kennel.
I want a home. A family. A place to curl up like other dogs, where I don't have to wonder if I'm invisible.
Please..... don't let me be the one that gets overlooked.

We don’t know what he’s been through, and the shelter isn’t sure how old he is.

❤️❤️Update: ADOPTED!❤️❤️URGENT!! Another senior in need of help!!
Sweet Sugar is a 20 pound, 12 year-old Shih Tzu surrendered because her family could no longer take care of her. She is as sweet as her name! Her previous owner said she lived with large dogs and was great with kids. They said she is very loving and a good listener.
She’s kenneled with other small dogs at the shelter. Sugar is currently recovering from the removal of a mammary mass. She is available for adoption with a health waiver. A Rescue would like to help her but needs a foster to do so. If you can find it in your heart to foster this little angel, please send us a DM. Sweet senior needs help🙏🙏
Champ is a 12 year old, 18 lb Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu who was owner surrendered due to “traveling and expenses.”
A rescue wants to help him but needs a comitted foster. The rescue will cover all of his medical needs, and the foster provides a loving home.
According to previous owner champ is very loving and did well around children. He is currently kenneled with two other small dogs. Champ is sight impaired and possibly hearing impaired as well. Please send us a DM if you want to give Champ

- [ ] This is beautiful Rey a 10 yr. Young Greyhound/lab. Mix who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. She’s oh so sweet and ready to meet her new family. She walks nice on leash, takes treats gently, appears housebroken and knows basic commands like sit and stay. Cottontail is listed as a 5 year old, 48 pound male Australian Kelpie mix. What a great little guy!!
He likes humans and pups.
He arrived as a stray and we are already in love!
He’s a playful sweet boy, he has beginning obedience skills and is eager to continue learning.

Cottontail is the whole package, and a must meet!
