Waterfront Services Co. is proud to announce Abagayle J. Britton as the first-ever recipient of the $1,000 Waterfront Next Generation Scholarship!
The scholarship was created to recognize and support the next generation of leaders whose character, goals, and experiences reflect Waterfront’s core values of Safety, Ownership, Respect, Excellence, and Service.
Abagayle is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. An entrepreneur, agricultural communicator, and advocate for agriculture, she is also the owner of AB’s Media & Marketing, where she helps agricultural businesses, organizations, and communities share their stories through photography, videography, graphic design, and marketing.
Her commitment to Waterfront’s values is evident throughout her work and experiences. Growing up in agriculture and exhibiting cattle taught her the importance of safety, responsibility, patience, and perseverance. Through her business, education, agricultural internships, 4-H involvement, and service to others, Abagayle has demonstrated initiative, accountability, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
Abagayle’s future goals include strengthening the connection between agriculture and consumers, supporting local agricultural businesses, and creating informative and valuable farm-to-table experiences. Her thoughtful application, strong work ethic, and dedication to serving the agricultural community distinguished her during the selection process.
As our inaugural scholarship recipient, Abagayle will always hold a special place in the history of the Waterfront Next Generation Scholarship. We are honored to recognize her accomplishments and support her as she continues her education and pursues her goals.
