Find out what the site actually requires before you shop. Safety boots are usually the one thing they insist on. Work pants, gloves and layers can be things you already own, and you can upgrade once the paychecks start.

Bend your knees instead of your waist, keep the box close to your body, and turn with your feet so you're not twisting. Check how heavy something is before you pick it up.

If a load is too heavy or awkward for one person, ask for help. Nobody worth working with will think less of you for it.

The employers we work with keep the seasonal hires who turn up on time, learn the job properly and are still steady in week six. They already know your work by then, which beats anything a resume can tell them.

So treat the temporary role like the permanent one. Some of them become exactly that.
