You are not a task.
Thatās dignity.
Being heard. Being seen. Being paid attention to ā not rushed through.
But letās be honest.
Most of us caregivers didnāt wake up wanting to speak over our loved one.
We wake up with a list.
Feed by 8. Meds by 9. Shower. Laundry. Exercise if thereās time.
Somewhere in the rush, we forget to explain what weāre doing.
We stop offering choices.
We finish their sentences.
And suddenly, care feels cold ā even when our hearts are full.
Hereās the good news:
You can flip it today.
Try this:
š Tell them what youāre about to do.
š Offer one small choice. āThis shirt or that one?ā
š Keep your voice calm ā even if youāre running late.
Thatās not extra work. Thatās respect.
And it actually makes your day easier, not harder.
