On April 20, 2026, the U.S. District Court for Minnesota granted final approval to the $84 million settlement with all Defendants in Randall, et al. v. GreatBanc Trust Co., et al. The settlement provides substantial compensation for the participants in the Wells Fargo ESOP and is the largest settlement to date of a class action lawsuit brought by private parties alleging ERISA claims involving an ESOP. Plaintiffs alleged that Wells Fargo improperly used dividends paid on the ESOP’s preferred stock to offset its employer contributions to the Wells Fargo 401(k) Plan. On February 20, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona confirmed an arbitration award in favor of Plaintiff Shana Robertson against Argent Trust Company and the family trusts that sold 30% of Isagenix Worldwide, Inc. to the Isagenix ESOP in 2018. The Arbitration Panel ruled that the Isagenix ESOP paid $38.25 million more than fair market value in the 2018 ESOP Transaction. Isagenix ESOP participants received only nominal value for their Isagenix stock when the ESOP was liquidated between 2023 and 2025. On October 17, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California granted preliminary approval to a proposed $2.5 million settlement with all Defendants in Chea v. Lite Star ESOP Committee, et al. The final approval hearing is scheduled for January 21, 2026. Noa is a recent graduate of UC Davis School of Law, where they directed the Gender and Name Change Clinic and advocated on behalf of clients in removal proceedings through the Immigration Law Clinic. During law school, Noa also volunteered to support undocumented, low-wage workers in applying for the Deferred Action for Labor Enforcement program. Their research on the criminalization of gender affirming healthcare was published in the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights.

Prior to law school, Noa worked as a litigation paralegal advancing movement-based direct legal services for workers centers and community organizers in Chicago. Noa holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Ciara O'Neill joins FJWW as a Summer Law Clerk. Ciara is a rising 2L at Berkeley Law, where she is a Senior Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, Events Chair for the Plaintiffs' Law Association, and Co-leader of the Drug Policy, Education, and Decriminalization Project.

Before law school, Ciara worked as an ERISA paralegal at a plaintiff-side firm and as a policy specialist for the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. Ciara graduated with a B.A. in Government and Classics from Georgetown University.

We are currently seeking a fellow with 0-2 years of post-law school experience in litigation and/or clerkship(s) to serve a one-year term as a Workplace Justice Fellow, beginning in the summer or early fall of 2025, with flexibility on the start date.

FJWW specializes in public interest litigation on behalf of workers, retirees, unions, and people with disabilities, as well as corporate accountability and policy strategies for labor unions. Our core practice areas are employee benefits (ERISA), wage and hour, civil rights, employment, election, and health care law. We have successfully represented individuals, unions, non-profits, and classes of workers against some of the largest corporate and government defendants in the country, going to trial when necessary. Our work for unions is done in support of innovative campaigns to advance broad social justice issues, especially in the health care industry.

Our small-firm work environment prioritizes collaboration and mutual respect, as well as shared commitments to economic and social justice. We believe in the importance of professional development, including mentorship, engaging with community and professional groups, and participating in formal continuing education. We value diversity in the communities we work in, and we actively seek to reflect that diversity in our organization. Candidates should be licensed to practice in California or expect to be awaiting California bar exam results, as well as have excellent research and writing skills, a strong academic record, and a demonstrated commitment to workers’ rights or other forms of community and public service. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, as are experience or expertise with statistical or other quantitative analysis and familiarity with financial instruments, the financial services industry, labor unions, and/or the health care industry.

The salary is $95,000-$105,000 depending on experience. We offer excellent health benefits and long-term disability coverage as well as ample paid vacation and sick leave. Fellows are provided a CLE budget to cover conferences and trainings.
