Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital seeks a part-time BE/BC Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate to join our well-established and growing Wound Care practice in Presque Isle, Maine. Our busy clinic is now located in a larger office space within the hospital and continues to offer a comprehensive approach to services in a convenient, centralized location.

This is a benefits-eligible, hospital-employed position. While previous experience is preferred, new grads are encouraged to apply! Additional training is available to obtain Wound Care Certification.

📢 👶 Per Diem Certified Nurse Midwife Opportunity in Coastal Maine

The candidate will join a team of CNMs and three OB/GYN in the practice of family centered midwifery. Enjoy working in a brand-new built OB Unit serving the Coast of Maine. Experience with VBAC, water birth, birth center birth and intermittent monitoring is preferred. Ability to function as a team player in our dynamic practice is essential.

The per diem Certified Nurse Midwife provides full scope midwifery care to women on an on-call basis. The CNM is an independent practitioner with admitting privileges, who consults with, collaborates with, and refers to physician colleagues as appropriate. Qualifications include MSN in midwifery with AMCB certification, NRP and eligibility for Maine APRN licensure. Ability to First-Assist for cesareans and to perform limited OB ultrasonography is preferred.

We are happy to welcome Dr. Lisa Torgersen to Northern Light AR Gould Hospital. She is a full spectrum family medicine physician. While her duties have started as part of our hospitalist team, caring for inpatients in our hospital, her duties will be expanding in time to include both pediatric and obstetric care – areas in which she is well-experienced in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Dr. Torgersen completed her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. She completed her residency in family medicine, in the rural health track, at Central Maine Medical Center. She is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Torgersen lives in rural Maine with her husband, three horses, and a house-trained pot belly pig. She is looking forward to exploring this region and enjoying all the recreational and cultural opportunities we have to offer.
